A Bangladeshi Girl

Traditional Bangladeshi Girl

Traditional Bangladeshi Girl

Here is a pencil sketch I've made recently (5 Nov) which I would like to share with all of my friends in allaboutdrawings.

This is a picture of a Bangladeshi girl wearing traditional sari. I watched it from a book and tried to draw something like it. And I believe it turned out to be a good one. (I couldn't get it scanned, though.)

How I drew it:

I took a piece of paper large enough to cover the picture. I opened a small part of the picture and started drawing on my sketch book, the rest of the picture remained hidden. I gradually slid the paper and drew it by parts

I think it's ok to practice from other peoples drawings, if you don't claim it to be yours.

Sorry again for the bad picture quality! Take care!

Note from Admin:
Hi Probal!

I am so pleased you shared the process you used to draw this. I find it interesting.

I think your drawing looks great. Drawing people is the hardest subject to master.

And most of all, I like the comments, making me rethink my way of doing some stuff.

I wonder what she is thinking?

The way the girl in this drawing is cowering makes you wonder if she is scared, or trying to hide. It's always good if a drawing makes you question the story behind it. I like this drawing.
