"Caring Mom"

~As we all know there are very few tigers left in India so I hereby request you to help save them ...

We have to ask to please don't cut trees - we need to grow more and more trees and create a green and healthy environment. Please help the tigers to grow in numbers, please help their species.

Kitty Cat

My friend has been bugging me to put this one up, so here it is.

I think it looks more like a kitty caricature, not a real cat.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Leah, it sounds like you have a lovely, supportive friend.

Each drawing has its own merits - I like the expression on the kitty. It shows through that you love to draw so keep enjoying it.

Kitty

This is a pen and ink drawing from a cat magazine. This was my second attempt at this drawing because I ran out of ink and bought another pen.

I couldn't understand why I was not getting the effects with the new pen that I had with the old one. Eventually I discovered that I had bought a .5 nib pen when I had actually been using a .05 and that makes a very big difference.

This was good fun but I must be honest and say that pen and ink takes time to do. Also, one has to be more careful when using pen or pastels.

**Note from Kerry:
Gee Bella, your drawing is going ahead in leaps and bounds. If you didn't tell anyone, they'd think you have been drawing for years. I really like the way you have done this one, it's so cute!

I like drawing animals with long hair, it's a lot easier than short for me. I used 2H, 2B, HB, H and 5B. My eraser for highlights and a tortillion for blending.

Note from Kerry:

It's funny that most artists shy away from drawing hair and eyes and here you are, you've tackled really hard topics and triumphed. I'm shaking my head in amazement and complete admiration of your work Ellen. I'm guessing this is only drawing number 5?

Cute cat

I love cats very much. So, I thought of drawing a cat.

While looking on the net, i saw this picture which i liked and tried to draw. It is originally an incomplete drawing and i also thought of keeping the same while drawing.

This is my okay-ish drawing, as it didn't come up as i expected :(

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Chaithra,
You've done a lovely job! I don't have any trouble seeing a pretty cat.

Cat's Eye

Eye Of The Cat

Eye Of The Cat

For me, eyes are always a challenge to put them well on paper. It fascinates me because there is so much detail in it. The glare, pupil ... However i like eyes they have all a different beauty and they are the soul of a person or animal.

So i gave it a go.

This is on smooth paper size 89mm/128mm (like a visit card).

I used only pencil in the range of 4H, 2B, 4, 6, and 8B.

Hope you like it.

***Note from Kerry:
This sort of artwork is inspiring. I do like it, it's fantastic.
