Drawing Of A Tea Towel

Drawing Of A Tea Towel

It may seem odd sending in a drawing of a Tea-Towel, but there is a method to my madness! The kind of drawings I have been doing are learning exercises rather than works of art, because I am just a beginner.

I decided to try indicating folds of material by using the pattern on the cloth to indicate the form. I actually drew in the pattern of the Tea-Towel before anything else.

Using this technique, it almost forms the folds before even drawing them. I really enjoyed doing this. I started with a very simple pattern, but next time I will move on to something a little more daring!

Wow, this is good.

Great Idea

Trust me, you're not crazy for drawing a towel! I wish I could think of something that simple to draw. Of course my mind thinks I can only draw an object that isn't so simple. This leads to never knowing what to draw. I love this drawing, and it is a work of art.

Sometimes trying not to be too clever with what we choose to draw, reaps rewards, this sketch is fantastic...well done

Intricate
by: Bexii

I'm not sure if that's the right word to describe it but with my simple mind, it really is beautifully complex.

Nice :)

Another good thing that I do along these same ines is folding up a sheet of paper randomly, then throwing it down on a table, and drawing the result. It is very good practice. :)

Also, crumple a paper bag, sort of un-crumple it somewhat, and draw it. It's really fun and it helps a lot. ;)

This may be simple, but I like it. Good job creating those folds and the shading. Gives one inspiration and that is what this is all about isn't it?

Wow, Sandra! I've always been impressed by angles of any kind in drawings, but these folds are absolutely amazing. I am SO impressed! The folds and lovely shading are beautiful. It makes the towel very life-like.
