Flow

by Lauren Sauers
(wilmington N.C.)

I was sitting around thinking of something to draw, and i just wanted to draw something kind of flowing, so i drew this(: with everything flowing to the left side:P
It doesn't have a reason or anything to it...its just a drawing(:
Honestly, i don't know what the stuff is on the top and bottom, fabric maybe? ha i don't know but it adds to the picture:P

Note from Kerry:

Hi Lauren,
My first instinct was that it is fabric, like ribbons, and wow girl, this is so lovely. I just love your drawing style.

Assassin

by Lauren Sauers
(wilmington N.C.)

Hopefully my last assassin drawing :P im juss going through a phase....
This guy is actually the main character in the game, living in the Italian renaissance era- as you can see by his clothing.
HE was a hard one. his clothes and the mechanism on his hand... all complicated to draw :P
i didn't know if i should put the picture on here since i don't like sounding like a game nerd but... with the time and effort that went into it... it deserves to be on here.....

Note from Kerry:
Goodness me, Lauren, this is so very realistic. Hey, you have done such a brilliant job, I am very proud of you! It surely does deserve to be shown, it's awesome.

Forbidden Love

by Lauren Sauers
(wilmington N.C.)

I saw something kind of similar to this while i was browsing the internet, and wanted to make my own version.

I only wish that i knew how to paint so it would have turned out better. Unfortunately i only had pencils around :P

People have been commenting about me being only a 13 year old and well, thank you :)

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Lauren,
If you didn't include your name, I would have recognized this as your work. You have a great drawing style and I love that you use pencil!!

Keep drawing and you will realize that you don't need paint, you have a great technique with pencil. I am very impressed with your drawing, thanks Lauren.

Split Personality

by Lauren Sauers
(wilmington N.C.)

The name almost says it all. Its a drawing i made of one woman, but with 2 sides. I think it represents a few things, but u decide :P

It's also an amazing reminder of a how incredible a regular #2 pencil is! That's all i used on this, absolutely nothing else, along with all of my other drawings.

Also notice the wings to each side :P here not that noticeable in this picture, even tho the left one's a bit crooked.

It's a little different, and maybe more darker than some pictures I've done, but i had alot of fun making the left side look angry :P

P.S. i was going to do a picture for my 14th birthday a few weeks ago, but I've been busy :P

hope you guys like this.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Lauren,
Like it?? It's incredible! I think you've managed 2 distinct personalities - I know that wouldn't be easy so I can sit and admire this (with my mouth open).

I love that you use the #2 pencil, it sure is a fascinating little tool and you don't have any trouble making it sing. Great job!

p.s. Happy 14th birthday Lauren, it's lovely having you as part of our family.

Emotions

by Lauren Sauers
(wilmington N.C.)

This is a spur of the moment drawing:P The body to me looks horrible because i spent almost all my time on the face:P
For example i didn't quite get the collar bone long enough and the shoulder is a little off... I was rushing:P

Note from Kerry:

Gosh, who'd notice, Lauren - she is gorgeous! All eyes would be on the pretty face! I love it.

Moonlit Silhouette

Moonlight Silhouette

Moonlight Silhouette

This is a rough, quick, newer version of the drawing i submitted a while back called "Girl By The Ocean". I think that's it ....ahh...i cant remember :P
(edited to add link to older version of drawing)

It was hard because, well, everyone knows charcoal can be a bit messy, so i had to keep erasing...alot :P

This time i added highlights to the girl and the tree, even the grass on the ledge, even though it's not to noticeable in this picture :)

hope u enjoy it, even though it is one of the more sloppy of drawings I've done :)(:

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Lauren,
There is a big difference between the 2 drawings but they are both good in their own right. I really like this one too, it emanates a peaceful feeling. It's good work Lauren, especially for charcoal.

Girl By The Ocean

Girl By The Ocean

I was literally just playing with shapes, and moon drawings, when i thought about this idea.

This is the first time I've drawn water :P and i know my moon isn't a perfect circle :/ ... I fixed that after i took this picture.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Lauren
Your drawing is very appealing, well done!

A Bit of Color

by Lauren Sauers
(wilmington N.C.)

A lil' bit of color(:

A lil' bit of color(:

Well, the concept of this is for each person to have there own definition of what it means :) it can mean alot of things.

It was really going to be my usual black and white pencil, til my little cousin begged me to let her help me with one of my drawings, and really, color makes it that more dynamic:P

It also makes it that much harder to come up with a name for it :P
xoxo

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Lauren
You are a good cousin to allow someone to add their ideas to your drawing. That is a very nice gesture. Hopefully you have encouraged her to draw more, too.
Your drawings are always awesome.
