Wise Owl

Wise Owl

Wise Owl

I love to draw birds and flowers, normally with coloured pencils.

This sketch was copied from one of my four year old daughters colouring books.

I started it while on holiday last year and I have added more to it each time I take a break away. I feel that it may be unfinished; however I am worried that I may spoil it if I start to add anymore.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Kenneth, it looks finished to me and I think it's very well done.

Most artists worry over when artwork is finished or not. I think you just have to declare it done! Maybe you've enjoyed it so much, you don't want this little project to end. Solution? Start another.

Don't forget to put the start and finish dates on the back of your owl. Write where you found the image and then sign your lovely drawing.

Hawk On a Branch

Hi ADD family, I also drew this Hawk from the same book, called "How to Draw Animals".

I did try my best to draw like the artist from the book. I use hb + 6b pencil.

***Note from Kerry:
Sergio, you must be proud of this! It looks like it would have taken some time to complete and it is very good.

I haven't posted anything in a while. My husband had a hip replacement and things have been a little hectic! But he is doing fine now, and I am ready to post new pics.
This was done in Bristol vellum paper. 2h,3b,4b graphite pencils. I did blending with a tortillion.
My first time doing a bird, too!

Note from Kerry:
Hi Cindy,
Is your drawing thumbnail size? It has turned out really small - I am as blind as a bat so I'm struggling to make it out. If you have a bigger scan, I can resize it for you if you like?
Edited...
Cindy, thank you for sending in another image - yes, this is much better and it's clear to see now what a wonderful job you have done with this drawing! It's absolutely perfect, thank you!

Glad to hear your husband is on the mend - these men sure do keep us on our toes, don't they?

A Swan - take off and landing

Hi Kerry,

This is my second work after "Penguin Village". Your nice comments inspired me to draw this Swan. I've used HB Pencil and Ball Point Pen. Don't hesitate to point out my mistake so that I can improve in future.
Thanks & Take Care....

Blue Heron

Blue Heron

I saw this heron sitting on a tree. I had an idea to draw both the tree and the heron together. This is how it turned out.

***Note from Kerry:
That's very creative, Marc. I like the result. It deserves the frame it's in, I hope you have other work of yours framed, too. It's very good.

The Ostrich

The Ostrich

I drew this ostrich because it was a good large picture in a book. It looked easy to draw and was really cute.

I thought of sharing with other ostrich lovers.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Ronald,
Your drawing is fantastic, so life-like, good work!

Hi Farooq
I think your sketch is very well done! I really like it.

It would be great if you could write more than one line please Farooq, just to keep within submission guidelines. If you can't think of what else to say, you could give an estimated time that it took you to complete the drawing, we are all interested to know that little fact.

It's obvious you have an artist's eye and it's great that you draw things that appeal to you. I think you've done a grand job of the owl, keep drawing, you're doing very well.

The Rooster

For Julio Cesar Torres

For Julio Cesar Torres

First of all, i would like to dedicate this picture to my grandpa "Julio Cesar Torres". My grandpa passed away when i was only 5 months old, but i knew i was someone very special to him.

I drew this picture thinking of him and how he loved roosters. So this picture means so much to me and I'm sure it would have meant alot to him.

In loving memory of Julio Cesar Torres. R.I.P (papa). We love you!!

***Note from Kerry:
Kathy, your story tells me you are a special person. Your Papa would have been so proud of you, knowing you have such an artistic streak.

I love seeing what you can produce. Thanks for sending this in. You are doing so very well for someone who has just started to draw! Keep going, your love of art shows through in your work.

Bird On A Wire

Bird on a Wire

Bird on a Wire

It's been some time since I have put anything on the site so I thought it was time I posted something!

This is the view from my window at work - Obviously I couldn't draw the whole thing while at work so I drew this from several sketches I did and some reference photos.

I drew this using ordinary graphite pencils on A3 Cartridge paper.

My favorite bit is the little bird on the telegraph wire - I named him Geoff!

***Note from Kerry:
This is such a beautiful work of art, Sandra. Congratulations on your patience and attention to detail. It's very well done.

I like the way you did the wire but it's all so good!
