Black and White Drawings

Black and white drawings are very attractive to a lot of people.

This whole site is based on pencil drawings for this reason.

Plus, if you are learning to draw, pencil is the most recommended medium for you. There is no real point venturing onto other mediums until you know how to draw.

Learning to draw in pencil gives a good, solid background for you to succeed as an artist.

Don't get me wrong, there are good artists who do watercolors or other mediums, and they'll honestly admit they can't draw.

Personally, I wouldn't like the feeling. Knowing the basics of drawing gives you a good footing into other areas of art.

If you use a color picture or photo to copy from, a good way to identify all the different shades of gray is to change your picture to grayscale (black and white).
