Note from Kerry:
Hi Diya
Your drawing has great appeal, it's clever for something that has come purely from imagination. I really like it.

Peaceful landscape of my village

by Diya Nishana
(Hail,Saudi Arabia)

Home...

Home...

My home is in a small but peaceful village in Kerala. I love going to my village during the holidays because it is so different from the city I live in. It is a simple and beautiful place that has clean air and no pollution.

There is a big banyan tree outside my home and there are tall trees all around. It is a very peaceful place. This is the scene outside my home in my village.

I think there is no place in the world which is more beautiful than my village.

Note from Kerry:
Hello Diya
I really like your drawing, I can almost feel your homesickness for Kerala! I am sure just by drawing your familiar scenery that it will bring you closer to your treasured home. Great work!

The Path of Life

by VJ
(Oslo, Norway)

This is a drawing I made for a Progressive Rock album I wrote.
I'm not sure If I want 'cause I know I can do better.
So this is like a demo or something.
It shows a house on a mountain with a road that continues into the distance.
I will try to make a better one another time.

Note from Kerry:
Hi VJ!
It's so great to see you showing some more of your work, thank you!
You know what I love most about this piece? It's because you did it..., it's your creation and just with that knowledge - I admire you.
VJ, I wonder if you have seen the videos I now have on my site? There are landscape videos that give so many tips and techniques (particularly the one on how to draw sky), I'm sure you will be able to learn from them and progress even further than you are now. Don't be shy to let me know what you think!

Coral Reef and Island Landscape

by Anuar Abdullah
(Terengganu, Malaysia)

Tanjong Tengah - Redang island

Tanjong Tengah - Redang island

Several years on Pulau Redang (Malaysia) have given me the opportunity to explore and document its coral reefs.

My illustrations of the coral reefs here begin the same time when I learn how to draw.

Drawing soon became my obsession and my first visual diary is born. The process includes drawing underwater as well as above water. The underwater part is done on plastic slate and pencil later transfered to the paper.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Anuar, your visual diary must be fantastic! This is a lovely drawing and the detail is great. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Among The Trees 2

by Yvonne Johnson
(Durham)

I hope you don't mind me, I am having another try with this drawing. I'm still not sure about it, I used a green and a brown shade to see if it helped.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Yvonne, we sure don't mind, you're doing what we all do. Us artists are never quite happy with what we produce and we love to tinker! Luckily for you, it has worked and you've added a new dimension to the drawing. I was only admiring your first one again this morning so I'm really pleased you haven't ruined it.
