Sci-Fi Drawings

Some time back, Marty wanted me to 'whip up' a 'space ship'. Taking a few items from the film "Silent Running", here she is - the GTC class USMC EF-1 Intrepid. The GTC stands for Galactic Transport Cruiser. The EF-1 stands for "Expeditionary Force".

..Chrome polish? Let's see... I think that's in aisle 5...

You'd think that life being what it is would have a similar impact no matter where it would spring up. As in this 'gentleman's' case, how does one keep the water spotting to a minimum?

Drawing #3 - No Place Like Home
...There's No Place Like Home (click, click, click)...

I've often pictured what 'going home' would be like... If it has a place for my Pepsi and some natural light by which to draw and play my guitars, I'm good... I'm good.

As you can see, I've merged a few of your drawings together and I think it makes a much more interesting page, don't you? There are new website rules citing that pages that don't have more than 300 words should be deleted and I just can't find it in my heart to delete these fantastic sci-fi drawings!

Out of your drawings today, I really, really like the landscape one! It's so great to study and see all the different things you have included.

Marty has been dropping in from time to time so I hope he sees the drawing you did just for him. I think he has good days and bad days, struggling with his breathing. He is always in our thoughts and prayers. I'm sure he'll comment if he sees it so we'll have to wait and see.

As always, thanks for contributing Jim, I've really enjoyed all of your grand artwork.

Avatar-type beings

When disclosure finally comes, it might prove beneficial to make known just how many species actually exist. I think it will reduce the overall shock and the tendency to 'gawk' when the time comes to confront them - face to face.

Life Through Necessity

After seeing so many versions of 'life elsewhere', one must wonder about the needs and/or requirements of such needs for life to take hold and flourish. For example, where one finds veins close to the surface of the skin one might conclude the need for gaining heat for the system. At times, eyes seem to be encased in a fluid substance. Why? Maybe it is to filter a light that is too intense, or to cushion the eye against excessive gravity.

Each form was created in the Maker's own image... Who is to say which 'Maker' is the one so often referred to? And it it truly 'your's'?

Ringed Beauty Care

Drawing of a Mercurian

A typical Mercurian might resemble a reptilian skin due to the lack of water and the need to close the gaps between 'plates' to keep inner moisture from escaping during hunting expeditions on the surface.

A Martian from Earth

Given the current state of things, any type of 'Martian' that we will ever encounter will be one of our own making.

Possibly the product of some late night skull session where 'experts' from every discipline known to science will sit around a table 'spitballing' what their impression of an ET might be like.

Knowing how close to the mark our science guys have been thus far, I am not all that comfortable about what they might come up with!

The 'Educated' Grays

It depends on which version of the story you wish to stick with as to just how safe you feel here on Earth.

Personally... I feel very safe. Think about it... These 'folks' can travel great distances, be all but invisible when they choose to be and run rings around our 'supreme' Air Force Jets, say for example the F-22 Raptor.

I think if they meant us harm, we would be nothing but stains on the carpet by now...

Outland Seal Team

If human nature holds true to form, there will be certain obvious parameters that will be followed. Like ET S.W.A.T. Teams, and Saturnian SEAL Teams. I venture to say that as a species we will ALWAYS have to enlist a certain group of individuals that will be able to cover the check that our big mouth will inevitably write!

That being the case, I'd rather have someone out there who is up to the task.

Planetary Columbus

Each and every planet in our system could have very well supported its own life forms. They could have led to explorers, doctors and even lawyers (providing at least THEIR planet blessed them with brains...).

In which case, they would have developed a skin akin to leather or felt so that they would be protected from intense cold. But things are relative, so maybe cold to them would be heat to us.

So, if that were true... the mind is wide open and all bets are off!

Somewhere along the lines, there had to be some thought given to the 'beings' that were to act as technicians on a lesser scale such as an overall handyman, food support - i.e.: kitchen, preparation and gathering and sanitation, site maintenance and general care.

A being that will blend in without causing undo stress when placed into varying situations - like a delivery room or auto repair...(hopefully not the same one).
