Sci-Fi Drawings

For Marty

For Marty

For Marty
ET Life
ET Home

Some time back, Marty wanted me to 'whip up' a 'space ship'. Taking a few items from the film "Silent Running", here she is - the GTC class USMC EF-1 Intrepid. The GTC stands for Galactic Transport Cruiser. The EF-1 stands for "Expeditionary Force".

More to come...

Drawing #2 ET Life
..Chrome polish? Let's see... I think that's in aisle 5...

You'd think that life being what it is would have a similar impact no matter where it would spring up. As in this 'gentleman's' case, how does one keep the water spotting to a minimum?

Drawing #3 - No Place Like Home
...There's No Place Like Home (click, click, click)...

I've often pictured what 'going home' would be like... If it has a place for my Pepsi and some natural light by which to draw and play my guitars, I'm good... I'm good.

Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim
As you can see, I've merged a few of your drawings together and I think it makes a much more interesting page, don't you? There are new website rules citing that pages that don't have more than 300 words should be deleted and I just can't find it in my heart to delete these fantastic sci-fi drawings!

Out of your drawings today, I really, really like the landscape one! It's so great to study and see all the different things you have included.

Marty has been dropping in from time to time so I hope he sees the drawing you did just for him. I think he has good days and bad days, struggling with his breathing. He is always in our thoughts and prayers. I'm sure he'll comment if he sees it so we'll have to wait and see.

As always, thanks for contributing Jim, I've really enjoyed all of your grand artwork.

Avatar-type beings

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

When disclosure finally comes, it might prove beneficial to make known just how many species actually exist. I think it will reduce the overall shock and the tendency to 'gawk' when the time comes to confront them - face to face.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim,
Are you sure this isn't someone from the music industry? Looks familiar ... (heh)

Great drawing!

Life Through Necessity

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

After seeing so many versions of 'life elsewhere', one must wonder about the needs and/or requirements of such needs for life to take hold and flourish. For example, where one finds veins close to the surface of the skin one might conclude the need for gaining heat for the system. At times, eyes seem to be encased in a fluid substance. Why? Maybe it is to filter a light that is too intense, or to cushion the eye against excessive gravity.

Each form was created in the Maker's own image... Who is to say which 'Maker' is the one so often referred to? And it it truly 'your's'?

***Note from Kerry:
Jim, he's an interesting little character. Again, the thought and detail just astounds me.

Ringed Beauty Care

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

Saturn needs a very special type of law and order. It needs to be able to perform well under a sea of liquid hydrogen and methane. (and you thought YOUR winters were cold...)

artist
Note from Kerry:
Hey Jim, this dude looks like a distant relation to Spiderman!
It's so easy to forget that you have created this from your imagination, each stroke placed with purpose and intention. Well done, really.

Drawing of a Mercurian

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah)

...Too close to the Sun...

...Too close to the Sun...

A typical Mercurian might resemble a reptilian skin due to the lack of water and the need to close the gaps between 'plates' to keep inner moisture from escaping during hunting expeditions on the surface.

artist
Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim
I'm glad that's not sunburn blisters on his head, ouch! Mean looking dude all the same...

The Vacuum

...There's A 'Sucker' Born Every Minute...

With apologies to Mr. Barnum, Let me introduce to Mr. V. A. Cuum. Guaranteed to drain everything from your sink to your bank account. (and you thought the I.R.S. never came out at night...)

artist
Note from Kerry:
Unreal drawing Jim, how long do you take to produce a drawing with all this minute detail?

Alien

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

Courtesy of a report from the Black Hills of South Dakota, Marty. Many sightings from around the general area.

***Note from Kerry:
Jim, it is so kind of you to do these for Marty. He's had some health problems recently so I hope he's well enough to catch sight of these. I'm sure you'll set him on the road to recovery with your thoughtfulness.

Cool dude, this alien!

Follow Me Please

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

There may be places that don't take American Express... but this is one doorman you don't want to short change.

***Note from Kerry:
Jim,
This dude sends shivers down my spine. No, I wouldn't cross him.

The Complaint Department

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

I'm sure that coming face to face with caring individual, you will soon come to the conclusion that it was all your fault in the first place, and that you are sorry you even bothered him!!

***Note from Kerry:
Gosh Jim, I didn't think your drawings could get any better but the artwork in this piece is so admirable! How long do you reckon it would have taken you to draw this?

When the tide is out and the moon is new, watch where you step... The leg you lose may be your own...

Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim
Forgive me for my failing memory, but what sort of drawing paper is your favorite? I do remember you like to use 3 grades of pencil mainly. There are always newcomers to the site and any helpful information you can give is always very welcome. We have to pick the brains of those who have the talent!! (Hope you don't mind...)

A Male and Female of each Species

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

It is my professional opinion that there exist more races than the active imagination will ever dream up.

***Note from Kerry:
Your drawing is very good Jim - I like the dash of color.

Ground Hog

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

This particular 'variant' is found throughout the galaxy and they are considered a workhorse.

There will be more on this type later on.

***Note from Kerry:
Jim, you will have made Marty's day by drawing this one. Interesting.

The outpost on Io

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

One of Jupiter's four 'main moons' - Io - could possibly support a far different form of life than its parent planet. And this is only our own Solar System mind you...

artist
Note from Kerry:
Jim, this guy is so very different - I can't help but stare at the intricate pencil work on his head... wow...

Now I Know

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

...There was a time when men were men and women were glad of it! A time when the only light pollution occurred when there was a cloudless sky, and you had a full moon...

Maybe next trip I'll make it a point to go out pony-trekking on the moors. I'd just settle for a 'next time'!

***Note from Kerry:
Jim, that's a totally awesome drawing!

...Intelligent Life... hm-m-m... talking about Earth again??

There is such a vast array... You cannot imagine - and probably wouldn't believe...

***Note from Kerry:
I'm not worried Jim because you are keeping me up to date! Ewww, this one is a bit icky! Oh, not the drawing - it is excellent, as usual.

Policeman

(Issaquah, WA)

...Everybody needs a reliable Policeman, no matter where the neighborhood...

...Everybody needs a reliable Policeman, no matter where the neighborhood...

The location tells one so much about the needs and requirements that need to be present to support 'life' - no matter what form the 'life' may take.

Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim
It's great to hear from you again.
This dude looks really tired, I love the way you did his eyes.

From our ever-expanding 'neighborhood'

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

...From our ever-expanding 'neighborhood'...

...From our ever-expanding 'neighborhood'...

When you are standing out in your back yard this summer, take a good, long look at the sky. When the 'stars' move, even you will get excited. Not all contactees wear overalls and eat Chicklets...

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim,
I think contact is an experience I can do without but I have spotted movement and I think it was a satellite. Right?

Your drawing is exceptional, thank you Jim.

Grand Carnival

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

There is a time when I believe all minds go to the same place - even if only for a split second - and I have a feeling this is what they 'see'.

Of course, it's only an opinion...

***Note from Kerry:
Jim, it looks like a graphic doodle! Of course I love the colors so it really appeals to me.

String Theory

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

I am certain that a great many of you have heard about the 'String Theory'. Physically, this is 'supposed' to be how they look. Never been there (yet...), so I don't know.

I've only done a few of these so I succumbed to the drive and decided to upload them all at once. I mean there are only five...

Enjoy...

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim, this is very interesting. I hadn't heard of string theory so I looked it up. The things you learn.

A Martian from Earth

...A Martian from Earth...

...A Martian from Earth...

...A Martian from Earth...
Thinking Man

Click the other image to enlarge it.

Given the current state of things, any type of 'Martian' that we will ever encounter will be one of our own making.

Possibly the product of some late night skull session where 'experts' from every discipline known to science will sit around a table 'spitballing' what their impression of an ET might be like.

Knowing how close to the mark our science guys have been thus far, I am not all that comfortable about what they might come up with!

Drawing #2 - Self Portrait
...A Thinking Man's Man...

This is more less a self portrait. What I must look like to others when I go one my 'space trips'... Yes? No?

artist
Note from Kerry:
Jim, I think you give out plenty of ideas! Seriously, wouldn't ya think there are better things to do?

Great drawing, as always.

Drawing #2 Self Portrait
I thought this drawing fit onto this page nicely, being a self confessed martian from earth. I'm just joking, Jim. Really, I think this drawing is fantastic - it has to be one of your best, really.

Once again, I have merged the drawings to make for a more interesting page with lots of content. I hope you don't mind and I hope you understand. They joys of being a webmaster...

Nuclear Family Unit

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

One often wonders which came first - the chicken or the egg. The 'family' however just seems to blossom outward from a single point, never knowing which came first.

But with love, why should it matter?

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim!
Your drawing is interesting and I love your use of light and shade.

Coming Home

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

Ever really wonder what other 'folks' might see when they get off the Interstellar at this particular exit?

***Note from Kerry:
Well Jim, I hadn't thought of it but it's good of you to give me the insight! This is so good.

The 'Educated' Grays

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

It depends on which version of the story you wish to stick with as to just how safe you feel here on Earth.

Personally... I feel very safe. Think about it... These 'folks' can travel great distances, be all but invisible when they choose to be and run rings around our 'supreme' Air Force Jets, say for example the F-22 Raptor.

I think if they meant us harm, we would be nothing but stains on the carpet by now...

***Note from Kerry:
They probably can't get near us because of all our space junk!

Good drawing Jim!

A Bird's Eye View

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

I'll probably never make it to here either, but that is what the mind is for, n'est pas?

I have gazed into this drawing for hours. Believe me, you can get 'lost'...

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim, it is certainly fun exploring your mind! I like your interpretations and you are right, you can get lost.

Neighbor

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

This is a rendering of an eye-witness (much like a forensic sketch artist) report from the Colorado area.

Marty, these are for you...

***Note from Kerry:
Jim, this is so good, it's eerie!

Return to Jim Leming.

Outland Seal Team

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

...Outland Seal Team...

...Outland Seal Team...

If human nature holds true to form, there will be certain obvious parameters that will be followed. Like ET S.W.A.T. Teams, and Saturnian SEAL Teams. I venture to say that as a species we will ALWAYS have to enlist a certain group of individuals that will be able to cover the check that our big mouth will inevitably write!

That being the case, I'd rather have someone out there who is up to the task.

artist
Note from Kerry:
Hey Jim, yep, I think this dude looks capable enough. Love the earring! Great job of capturing expression, too.

Return to Jim Leming.

Planetary Columbus

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

Each and every planet in our system could have very well supported its own life forms. They could have led to explorers, doctors and even lawyers (providing at least THEIR planet blessed them with brains...).

In which case, they would have developed a skin akin to leather or felt so that they would be protected from intense cold. But things are relative, so maybe cold to them would be heat to us.

So, if that were true... the mind is wide open and all bets are off!

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim, it's too early in the day for me to try and process all that so I'm just going to admire the artwork.

Return to Jim Leming.

Jack of all Trades

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

..Jack of all Trades...

..Jack of all Trades...

Somewhere along the lines, there had to be some thought given to the 'beings' that were to act as technicians on a lesser scale such as an overall handyman, food support - i.e.: kitchen, preparation and gathering and sanitation, site maintenance and general care.

A being that will blend in without causing undo stress when placed into varying situations - like a delivery room or auto repair...(hopefully not the same one).

artist
Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim
This drawing is unbelievably gooood! Do you use a blending stomp or something else? I know this is a portrait drawing but I'd love to see one of someone you know personally. You'd ace it.

Perimeter Security

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

Every 'society' has law enforcement 'officers'. These are no exception. Step over the line, and well, you know...

***Note from Kerry:
Well Jim, I'll do my utmost to behave! He looks dreadfully mean.

Fire Captain

(Issaquah, WA)

...Retired...

...Retired...

Well Folks, I am back... It has been a long drought with many of my own fires to put out but I've managed to come out of the forest in one piece.

I wish I could say the same for my friend Bill here... He stayed in long enough to get bar-coded.

Thank you Mr. Orwell...

artist
Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim
Welcome back old friend! Great to hear you have emerged in one piece.

Your drawing is so interesting to study, I can only admire the skill required to produce something remotely like this!

Thanks Jim, Marty will be very pleased to see you posted an alien drawing. Did you do this in digital format? I like the way you have done the eyes.

Sirius

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

If you ever find yourself pondering the wonders of the Universe, chew on this for a while... An aboriginal tribe in middle Africa has been singing praises to the Dog Star, Sirius, for thousands of years. Here's an easy question to start off with... How did they find it???

***Note from Kerry:
Jim, this drawing is unbelievably good! All of your drawings are great but some stand out more than others. Those eyes!

Late Night Visit

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

Maybe this is what happened that fateful evening at Holloman AFB when a trigger-happy M.P. wounded an ET during a planned landing there.

It was set up by then-President Dwight Eisenhower...

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim,
Your drawing is so very realistic, it makes me wonder...

Listening

by Jim Leming
(Issaquah, WA)

May your heart forever see the true colors that your mind hears...

May your heart forever see the true colors that your mind hears...

Oddly enough, I'd always been leery of doing graphic art on a computer. It takes the 'control' out of my hands. I feel distant from the creation aspect. Still... it kept on haunting me until I just gave in.

If I had to give this a title, I'd call it "Listening - At A Distance"

***Note from Kerry:
I don't know why, but I really like this Jim. I think because you added your thoughts, it gave me pause to study a little bit more. Plus, I love the colors. Great job, I'm glad you experimented.

Dulce, New Mexico...

Dulce, New Mexico ... again
...Dulce, New Mexico...yet again.

(Click each image to enlarge and move it to the top.)

Some time ago, there was a very 'heated exchange' between U. S. Armed Forces and a 'contingent' of 'intruders' in an underground complex in Dulce, New Mexico. This was drawn from a forensic description given after the 'incident'.

Draw your own conclusion...or scan the 'web'.

Image 2:
Drawing two of three created after the incident.

Image 3:
This is the third of three submitted 'officially'.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Jim
Your drawings are unreal.

I have always felt that if we can exist, so can other beings. It pays to have an open mind in my opinion.

Work, Work, Work

I long for the day when contact is revealed, and please take notice I didn't say happens, because man - in all his infinite wisdom, will find some way to enslave our visitors. Think not? Read up on how the railroad system came to be built.

***Note from Kerry:
Jim, you must keep Emilie entranced with all your stories!
