Church Drawing
by Neil Kitchen
(Ireland)
Hi All
This is the first picture I've drawn since I was at school, nearly 20 years ago.
I was asked by my sister to design a mass booklet for her wedding. I thought it would be a nice touch to have a picture of the church she was getting married in incorporated in the design.
The church is located in Laois, Ireland.
 Note from Kerry:
Hi Neil, Are you serious? This is a brilliant drawing and looks like a photo! How long did it take you to produce this one, Neil? It speaks volumes of how highly you regard your sister, you must be an awesome brother.

Old Barn
by Russell Young
(Petal, MS)
Old Barn with lots of shading.
I found this in another drawing book and my wife fell in love with it so I gave it a try. It was a bigger scene to draw with more details.
***Note from Kerry: Hi Russell, your efforts weren't for nothing though, it's terrific. I am sure that your wife will treasure your gift.

Anvil

Old Anvil
I was looking for Images on Google and found this and thought I'd draw it to see how well I could duplicate the original. Mine is larger than the one on google.
I used a B, HB, 4B and 4H to draw the anvil.
***Note from Kerry: Wow Russell, I love this!

Barn Door Handle

(Petal, MS)
Barn Door Handle
I was reading Magic Pencil by Phil Metzger and saw this representation and decided to try it for myself.
It was good practice on getting in a lot of details.
It was also a lot of work but the scan didn't bring out all of the detail.
***Note from Kerry: Hi Russell, I can clearly see that there is a lot of work in this. Isn't it great how such a simple thing can look so fantastic on paper? Good job.

Menteng's Glass Houses

The (Unknown Purpose of) Menteng's Glass Houses
These glass houses are beautiful. They're built integrated as Menteng Park (on of public space in Jakarta). Although i like them much, i don't have any idea for what purpose they built them. I haven't seen any activities held in there.
***Note from Kerry: Atita, you've done a good job of drawing the buildings, it's nice.

Appalachia Valley
by Forrest S. Clark
(Kissimmee, Fl USA)
Valley View
This a view of Holston Mountains in southwest Virginia from the valley near Bristol, Virginia.
It is a pencil sketch I did of the mountain valley, an impressionistic view looking toward the mountains on a summer day.
I have many sketches of this region of tobacco barns, farms and the mountains to illustrate the way people live in the area of Tennessee and Virginia.
**Note from Kerry: Hi Forrest, I can see I would be a huge fan of your artwork, it is truly lovely.

Cape Lookout
by Jo Guy
(Kernersville, NC)
Lighthouse drawing
I love drawing lighthouses and drew this one from two photographs.
This North Carolina lighthouse sits on an island with boat access only. Its distinctive diamonds was fun to draw and the gatekeeper's house makes for a more interesting picture.
Note from Kerry: Hi Jo, I really like your lighthouse drawing and I especially like the way you drew in the sand dunes - it's perfect! I can feel that beautiful fine sand beneath my feet. You've done a lovely job, thank you for sharing.

First Ever Drawing
by Ginger Marks
(Clearwater, FL USA)
Dock house
It was just a month ago that my husband, Philip, forced me to take a day away from my digital art business. He picked up a sketch book for me and out we went to the marina. Needless to say he created a monster. I am now using my sketches on cards.
Thanks for the inspiration. I have always doodled. But after visiting your site decided to give real drawing a whirl.
Ginger
**Note from Kerry:
Hi Ginger! This drawing must have given you real pleasure. I know I'd be mighty proud if I had done this on a first attempt! I can't wait to see more of your work. The recipients of your cards would be able to treasure and frame such personal pieces of art.
