The Ape

The Ape.
I try to see the best in a photo or magazine, and I try to get as much detail as I can within it. At the end of the drawing, I do like to stand back and say "Well, I did that."
With animals, there is that look they give - "There's no problem here mate."
***Note from Kerry:
Hi Joseph, I love this!! It's great work. I enjoyed your story too, thank you.

Close-up Elephant

Close-up of an Elephant
Elephants are incredible animals. I found a few interesting facts online, 1 - Elephants cry, play, have incredible memories, and they even laugh .
2 - Elephants grieve at a loss of a stillborn baby, a family member, and in many cases other elephants.
3 - Elephants are sensitive to fellow animals where if a baby complains, the entire family will rumble and go over to touch and caress it.
And these are just a few of the things I found out about them. I had a ton (lol) of fun drawing this picture. And it really was one of my easier projects.
***Note from Kerry: Thanks for the great story Patty! It makes drawing more interesting when you research your subject beforehand. Somehow your feelings get transferred to the drawing.

I just love to draw and this is my favorite drawing so far. Its not as good as all the others but I like him. Hope you do too.
I imagine him playing with my other creatures I draw. He used to be a bad tiger, but he's trying to turn his life around and join forces with good. I have faith that he'll be just fine. :P
Note from Kerry: Hi Kendyl You have written a perfect story to go with your lovely drawing! Keep it up, I can see great potential coming from you.
Comments for Alex the Tiger:

How Many Legs?
I found this while doing an image search on optic illusions. I wasn't able to see who the original was from, but this I found on about.com. And from the looks of what I've seen just in the first few pages I'm gonna have a lot of fun with these, while not working on portrait drawings. Enjoy!
***Note from Kerry: Hi Patty! It's great to see you are having some fun with illusions, they are so interesting.
