Ferrari Enzo

Ferrari Enzo

It's orange, it's blindingly fast, and it is the car of a friend of a friend.

I don't think that these cars are beautiful, but they certainly are spectacular! Like a fighter plane for the street.

***Note from Kerry:
Rico, that's a great drawing, well done.

Peel P50

by Eric Thinnes
(Cincinnati, OH USA)

I did this drawing a year ago. I was inspired by the British TV show Top Gear. This one took me about four days to do.

I used a HB graphite drawing pencil and an American #2 pencil for the dark lines and shading.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Eric
It's so good of you to show another of your drawings. I can see the care and attention to detail that you put into your work. I think your drawing has turned out great!

I drew this as an exercise in drawing with pen and ink.

This is my first car drawing that uses colored pens. It is from a photo on the web, too beautiful to not draw!

***Note from Kerry:
Wow, Rico, I am very impressed. Good job! I can see the stippling and I admire the patience you have, to produce such good work.

Chevrolet Metro

by Eric Thinnes
(Cincinnati, OH USA)

Hi, I've been lurking here for the past several weeks and I've finally decided to upload a drawing. Its a 1998 Chevrolet Metro. It took me 5 days to do ( total time about 2 hours ).

Reference material was a photo in a magazine. And it was done with a single American number 2 pencil.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Eric
I'm so pleased you sent in your drawing and I have to say I'm quite impressed! It's a little beauty.

My #2 pencil gets a real workout, I think we'd all be lost without it.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing more of your work, thanks so much.

Ford Aerostar

by Eric Thinnes
(Cincinnati, OH USA)

This is another year old drawing. It's a 1989 Ford Aerostar as it might look today. With rusty panels, a sheet of plastic covering a broken window ( held by duct tape ), and bungie cords holding up the front bumper. It took me four days to do. I used a HB drawing pencil and an American #2 pencil.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Eric
Your drawing made me smile, one of my favorite "fix-it" things is duct tape! However, I haven't thought about ever using a bungie cord. Blu-tack is another of my favorites to use for all occasions.
I enjoyed your drawing, thank you!

Ferrari 625 TRc

Ferrari 625 TRc

Just by chance, I was there when this car was put on the road for the first time. When it was finally finished, the owner asked me to do a drawing, then also to make that image into notepads. He gave the pads to friends (I still have mine).

I'm so sorry that you can't see the original piece, at full size, the detail is pretty good!

This car is very famous, having been raced by some of the best drivers of its era. It is just beautiful! To see it in person, is to fall in love with a car!

I drew this rendering from a photo that I took at a car show in Southern California.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Rico, I always try to visualize your drawings prior to scanning and resizing. They must be magnificent. I just love the way your passion for cars come through via your pencil and words.

The Bugatti

I love this car!

It is the Bugatti, world’s fastest accelerating car. It can go from 0 to 60 in just 2.4 seconds! The Lamborghini is only 3.3.

I think it is one of the most expensive cars as well ;)

***Note from Kerry:
Anna, you are so versatile with your drawings and you produce such amazing work.

My First Car Drawing

My First Car Drawing

My wife and I were coming home from breakfast one morning, and I saw this car parked at the curb. I stopped, and asked the owner if I could take pictures of it, he said "yes." He later bought a print!

I love the shape of the shadow from the front bumper!

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Rico,
Your first car drawing? Wow, you must have been mighty pleased with it. Actually, the shape of the shadow was the first thing that drew my eye, too. It is truly a great drawing, Rico.

I hope you are doing well, I have been thinking about you while your wife is so terribly ill.

THE JEEP

I like cars so one day I decided to draw a car from (allaboutdrawing.com)

So I looked in the section where the cars are at and I looked at all the cars, and my favorite car is jeeps.

So I picked the jeep and I liked the way it looked so I drew it.

***Note from Kerry:
