Hello Hello Kitty

by Jayme Betz
(Las Vegas)

Hello Kitty is one of my favorite characters. I love drawing. I want to keep on practicing. I tried my best on this.

**Note: This is my 10 year old daughter. She had been trying drawing for a little while now. I can see she has a natural talent that I hope she explores more. Thank you for looking, Michael Betz

***Note from Kerry:
Hello and welcome to you, Jayme!
Wow, so drawing skills definitely run in your family. This is an awesome drawing considering you are ten yrs old, good job! Your use of color is outstanding.

Drawing is exciting Jayme, because it leads you to all the other mediums like watercolor, acrylics and so on, and it opens up a whole new world to you. You will never have a boring day in your life when you love drawing.

I look forward to seeing more drawings from you and Jared.

My Daughter Jayme made me pretty proud this Christmas. She wanted to use her Grandma's Christmas money to buy art supplies....and she did. This is the first drawing she did with her new supplies.......

Jayme's Bird

by Jayme Betz
(Las Vegas)

My daughter Jayme did this for me in her 4th grade art class...last year. She makes me so proud when she does stuff like this. She drew and colored the bird and branch then used colored tissue paper for the leaves. I thought it was great and very creative.

***Note from Kerry:
It's very striking Jayme, I really love it too. Michael, it's lovely to see the pride you have in your children. You have every right to be proud too, Jayme is a budding artist alright.

This is a super hero character that my daughter Jayme drew. She drew it the same day as the stylish giraffe picture.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Jayme
You have produced an exceptional drawing for one so young! It's obvious that you have Dad's talent. Thanks for showing it to us, it is great.

Homer Simpson

by Jared Betz
(Las Vegas)

This is my first drawing on allaboutdrawings.com, and I feel confident in it. I plan on doing more.

**Note: This is my 11 year old son, he is just getting started in drawing. He wanted to post on here as well, so I told him to draw something to post. Thank you for looking, Michael Betz

***Note from Kerry:
Hey, Welcome Jared!! It's so great that you are interested in drawing, too.

I thought your drawing was fantastic, you've even added the detail of Homer eating a donut. It's very well done!

If you keep drawing things that interest you, drawing will always be a part of your life and that's a very good thing. All the best to you, Jared.

p.s. Your Dad rocks!

Abandoned Lighthouse

by Jared Betz
(Las Vegas)

This one is from our middle child Jared (11). He drew this from a wooden engraving we have hanging in our living room.

I am the lighthouse fanatic, my wife is the dolphin nut. Our entire house is lighthouses and dolphins....lol, oh with the occasional sunflower thrown in.

Jared also works with a mechanical pencil......imagine that.

artist
Note from Kerry:
Jared, I am impressed that you aren't afraid to tackle any subject. This is a great drawing, you show your willingness to add detail and effect -- good work! Please keep drawing, you're doing very well!

Cute Doggie

by Jayme Betz
(Las Vegas)

Here is Jayme's newest drawing. Her cartoon doggie. I can not believe how well she is progressing, and how fast.
So far I have taught her proportion, and perspective.
Next, we start working on shading and blending...... but... shhhhhh.... she said she wants the future lesson plans to be a surprise.

artist
Note from Kerry:

Hi Michael,
I agree, Jayme is progressing rapidly. The doggie is cute and very well done.
It's a very good idea to approach learning in portions because it saves overwhelming the artist. You are doing exactly the right thing by your beautiful little girl.
Great job, Jayme!

Stylish Giraffe

by Jayme Betz
(Las Vegas)

My beautiful daughter Jayme drew this the other day. She asked me to post it on Kerry's awesome website...so here is Jayme's Stylish Giraffe.

I am very proud of her progression, she is doing very well, but my opinion may be a bit biased....hehe.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Michael
No, you are not at all biased -- Jayme you have done a fantastic job with your Stylish Giraffe! It's a pleasure to view. I love the expression on his face.

Knives

by Jacob Betz
(Las Vegas)

My oldest son jacob had actually drawn these a while ago, as you can see on the date, but due to Daddy's procrastination, they are just now getting posted.

Jacob drew these from actual photos that he found online. He also uses a mechanical pencil.... hmmmmm?? I wonder where he may have gotten that from????

artist
Note from Kerry:
Jacob, are you for real? Your knife sketches are very good! It's a compliment to your Dad that you also like the mechanical pencil, that means you appreciate the resulting effects he gets from using that type of pencil. It's also my favorite so you've chosen wisely.

***Note from Kerry:
