Young Eagle Head

Hi my name is Tracy . Its been fifteen years at least since i have had the time to sketch or draw anything.

As a teenager, i loved to draw and like many people never had the time. Before Christmas, i had decided that i wanted to try painting, but before i committed myself, i first wanted to make sure i still have what it took to sketch.

I chose the eagle because it's my husband favorite of the wild. My husband had never seen any of my drawings and when i had finished the eagle, he was amazed at my capabilities.

For Christmas, he brought me everything i needed to start my painting and sketching projects. Because of his support and faith in me, I too am very proud of this picture.

Hope you enjoy this as much as i have sketching it!!! Looking forward to all your comments and tips.

Thanks

Tracy

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Tracy, it is so lovely that your husband is obviously proud of you and it is no wonder! Your drawing is magnificent. I can't wait to see more of your work.

Well, this is one of my first drawings on a big scale. This is an adaption from a favourite artist of mine. I hope you like it.

I lightly sketched the outline and the detail markings and then used pencils to fill in.

I'im thinking of doing this again but doing it all in graphite pencils :)

please leave your comments, hope you like it...
thankyouuu :)

I had to scale down the image and it looks like it has made it blurry, never mind, hope you still like. :)

***Note from Kerry:
Jordan, it's very well done, I do like it.

It is a shame we lose quality when we reduce and scan our work. It's easy to see it would look even more magnificent up close.

The Eagle

The Eagle

I finally got the whole house redecorated....yipppee..I missed drawing since March. I drew this yesterday after a day of loosening up my hand...gee how I hate getting heavy handed.

I used 2b, 4b, hb and h pencils, a tortillion, a kneaded eraser and a cotton ball. For the coloured eye I used colour erase pencils red yellow and brown. I also used sharpie for black in eye.

I have till June 7th to draw as I will lose use of right arm for 6 weeks after surgery ...I am trying to get as many drawings done that I can in the next few weeks...bear with me you may get a lot.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Michelle,
Your eagle drawing is just magnificent. That is a really lovely drawing, well done.

I am sorry to hear you have to have surgery, it is going to be tough to go without drawing for so long. I wish you well.

Hello Everyone:

I used the mechanical pencil only. This is my first eagle. I saw this drawing and I had to freehand it. I hope you all like it.

Kindly

Marty!

Note from Kerry:
Marty, your eagle is very good! I like it alot.
I see a bit of graphite has smudged onto your page. To stop that from happening, you only need to place a spare piece of paper under your hand while you draw Great work, dear friend.

Eagle Eyed

This is my first attempt at putting a frame around a drawing. I am not sure it works too well, somehow it perhaps detracts from the subject.

Still, I must keep trying all sorts of different ideas. What do you think?

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Ken, I know I like the drawing. I like the way you experiment with your image program. Keep doing it, one day you'll find a format that you like. Maybe you could reduce the size of the border, with not so much black? Or, you could try a gray, to complement the graphite. The sky's the limit!
