This is a sketch of a mountain scene I created messing around with reflections.

I used Irfanview (a free image program) to open a scanned copy and used the negative, sharpness, oil paint and sepia picture effects to create the final image.

I can't remember the effects I selected for the midnight blue one as the order the effects are applied results in different results. Anyway I would suggest trying it out, it is fun and can create some rather interesting versions of your art.

Hi Jeff
Isn't it amazing how those colors can make it look like a different drawing?

I love your drawing and I enjoyed viewing the different versions, so thanks!

Mountain Lake Scene Using Sharpie

Reflections emboss edge detection sepia

This is a scene I drew using a black sharpie. I experimented with trying to create reflections in the water. With the sharpie though, there is no going back so this was my first pass.

I have also included several version using Irfanview effects.

Hi Jeff
I really like the original (of course!) but the 'emboss' and the sepia ones turned out really well, too. I think it has terrific effect with the ink, you've done a good job my friend.

Peaceful landscapes

Peacefull Mountain Falls River runs through Lake in the Mountains

This is a series of drawings I did over this past week. I am still experimenting with finding a certain style for my mountains.

In all my drawings I do not start with a pre-determined scene I just let them happen and flow out the pencil.

Note from Kerry:
Hi Jeff,
I love that you use the option to have 4 images (thank you!) - I think it makes your pages so very interesting and it's great to compare what comes out of your pencil time after time.

I think of you when I try to imitate your style, off the top of my head without reference - and I can't do it!! It makes me admire you even more. Your drawings are always lovely.

Large Mountain Scene

Marty, funny you should mention drawing on a door. This is a drawing I did about ten years ago on the inside panel of a garage door we replaced.

This is the biggest drawing I have done and was one of my first that got me started on doing what I do now.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Jeff
Please keep a lookout for a lot of doors heading your way. I would love this!!

Actually, I am going to do this on my garage door - great idea! Since the door is still in use and upright, I might have to draw something like a waterfall.

Do you have this door on display anywhere? I sure hope so!
