Vintage Car

Here I would love to receive comments especially constructive criticisms..cos I know my car is gone out of shape.

I was trying something different here..by finishing the car with maximum short pencil strokes and only the border line with continuous ones..guess the combination of both messed it up....

1962 Vauxhall Cresta

I have been creating pencil drawings for years, but I am also a classic car freak. I love both, so when you combine the two the result is the kind of thing you see here.

This is one of my favourites, a Vauxhall Cresta. I've done plenty of other cars and have sold a few reproductions of my drawings on e bay.

I hope this inspires anyone out there never to give up drawing things, whatever your subject.

1912 Race Car

1912 Race Car

This is based on the race car "Babs".

The body was reworked to be a little more aerodynamic.

This took about 2 hours and I used a straight edge, a graphite pencil and blending sticks.

1915 Hispano Suiza

This car is owned by a client. He drove it to Malibu, California, where I took pictures of it. I later drew this rendering of it.

This monster has an engine from a SPAD 12 fighter aircraft of World War 1! It 1,100 cubic inches of displacement! This car can go three times faster than I would drive it.

1913 Mercer Raceabout

1913 Mercer Raceabout

A celebrity owns this car, and he drove it up to a Southern California canyon location.

I tried to make the drawing look like a scene from 1913 so I didn't draw power lines, postal boxes, and other things that would spoil the scene.

If you look at the steering column, you will see a round piece of glass in front of the steering wheel, this is the windshield! How cool is that?

This was one of the first sports cars, it has a small engine in a light car, the recipe for making a great car.

I have always liked the 40 Ford. However, the willy is awesome. I draw by looking at photos and enjoy this as one of my favorite pastimes.

I have been drawing cars since I was 12. But, like most, as you get older you find it hard to make time to draw.

I have owned a few of these trucks in my past.

My dad passed away in 2001. The last vehicle he ever helped me with was a 64 chevy step side. I miss him and if I knew he was to die when I sold the truck, I would have kept it.

1967 Mohs Ostentatienne Opera Sedan

If you have seen photos of the actual 1967 Mohs Opera sedan, it was a big, bulky car designed around an International Harvester truck engine and chassis. The tires were filled with nitrogen. Entry into the car was through a rear door.

Unusual automobiles are my main interest and this one caught my attention.

I drew the Opera sedan with traditional proportions and normal side doors. It's not finished. I'll be redoing this drawing with a slightly longer wheelbase.

This is another freehand drawing done with a mechanical pencil.

Custom '55

Custom '55

1955 Chevy with a rake, no front bumper and a Moon tank up front. Custom reverse wheels with knock-offs mounted on whitewalls.

I think the '55 Chevy is the best looking of the 1956 through 1957 cars.
