Eye Drawing

Pencil drawing EYE
As an art instructor, I have told my students that it is very important to learn how to properly draw eyes.
This was an example that I did for the class (it took me over 2 hours to draw).

The reason I posted this drawing is so you can practice drawing the eye. Please feel free to draw it, let me see it and I can help you to get to where I am..
I used this "Eye" for the drawing lessons I did for my students. In order to draw the eyes on a face, we must understand what the eye really is. So on this lesson I focus solely on the details of the eye.
Note from Kerry: Hi Bill Wow that is extremely close up! This is a fantastic specimen for all beginner artists to use for practice, thanks for sharing it here.
It's interesting to know if some artists use the white of the paper as their highlights or if they use an eraser to lighten those areas once the drawing is complete. I could just sit and watch an artist for hours - there are so many things to learn and I don't think I've found the best way of doing effects just yet.
