I noticed at a school open house, the students had taken a black and white photo of a persons face from a magazine and cut it right down the middle. They taped half of it to a page of drawing paper and then drew in the missing half.

Altho I didn't think I would be very good at it since I simply can't draw faces (or hands!) very well, but I was surprised at what I was able to do . Especially since most of my drawings look pretty childish. But I found it to be fun and great practice !
