Pencil drawing - Faith Poinsettias

This is a 11 x 14 pencil drawing of my daughter Faith. For those of you who have my Art page on your favorites, you have seen the progress that I have made during this drawing. I am presenting here, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do..

Poinsettias
This piece was done on black card-stock paper using Prisma Color pencils.

Note from Kerry:
Hi Bill
Your drawing of Faith turned out great! She is a little cutie and looks completely hug-able.

I added your beautiful drawing of Poinsettias here too because the rules state that more than one line is required for each story. This whole page belongs to you so you are welcome to write as much as you like.

The Poinsettia drawing reminds me that Christmas is just around the corner - it's striking and very lovely. Out of interest, how long would it take you to finish a drawing like that? (There I go again, I'm really going to have to stop asking so many questions!)

Great...
by: Michael Betz

I had the pleasure of seeing the completed "Faith" on FB. The Poinsetia is awesome...I just bought some card stock the other day to do Christmas cards...I think I just might try something like this for my wife.....I'll post the one I made for my daughter....and the bed her and I refurbished together......

What a perfect drawing of your daughter, Bill! The eyes is very much 'alive' and the face is adorable- (I love to draw babies myself, too)- and this is a lovely thought to hold on to.

Thank you for the compliments
by: Bill Richards

Thank you Sue, Dale and Kerry for the compliments. I am doing my best to put out at least 2 drawings a week. (Something hard/difficult and something easy and quick) When the next art fairs come around, I want to be able to enter as many different pieces as I can. Thank you again for your warm compliments.

Hello Bill,
I love Faith, as you know from your Facebook. I also like the poinsettias. I am going to have a go when I have finished Marrilyn.

You can ask any question(s) you like..
by: Bill Richards

That's what I am here ( and on Facebook for). Not only trying to sell and promote my work, but to help out the beginners to acquire a higher level. So if there is anything you want to know - just ask.

Thanks!

Hi Bill
Thanks for answering my question and for putting up with me! It's interesting to know that though and I'm sure I won't be the only one who is curious. Great artwork!

About the drawings
by: Bill Richards

The drawing of Faith took me about 3 days.. The Poinsettias took me about 2-3 hours. The technique was the easy part, it was just drawing it on black that made it tricky.
