Life Is A Book...Read It Good

Life Is A Book...Read It Good

This was just out of imagination...picturised in mind....no age barrier for reading and learning...life is indeed a book..to be read cover to cover...cheers

***Note from Kerry:
Martin, I love your drawing style. This one is so impressive, particularly since you drew it from your imagination. I'm in awe.

This sketch would have to rank as my favorite out of your drawings, Martin. It has charm and it takes me on a journey as I study and create my own story to go with it.

Comment added:

Martin, I like your drawing very much. I think your 'theme' is even more important; I relate with the search, adventure, and study about meaning in the story of a life.
Thankyou,
Gene

I tried an r and d on this pic..and glad was i..that it looked like her.....

Again, the shading is with lead powder. I used an eraser on her hair here and there to get the effect. Please do give me a constructive criticism on it kerry....

cheers

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Martin, your portrait drawings are way better than mine. My job is only to encourage you to draw so I shy away from giving criticism.

I can see you've tried different effects with this one. I like observing your experiments.

Can I ask what r and d is? (Sorry for the ignorance!)

Burden Of Sorrow

Burden Of Sorrow

Here I used an HB and an H pencil and for shading. I also used lead powder.. I mean I just scraped the pencil point on to an emery paper and used the powder..something which I never did until here.....

***Note from Kerry:
Martin, It's great to see you are experimenting with all sorts of effects. I also appreciate that you take the time to explain it to us. I really admire what you've done. Keep up the good work!
