and The Deadly Rattlesnake

Hello:

Here is another drawing I did while I was in hospital. It is a sketch of a cowboy thrown off his horse after his horse saw a rattlesnake.

Also what else do you see in the drawing? I am writing a story to go along with this drawing. Any one out there that would like to help me on the story? Please let me know.

I used a number two art pencil on the drawing.

Thank You Kerry: Martin Hamilton

Wow Marty, this is very good too!

Wow, I wish you had signed your name, Anonymous!

Thank you for providing so much detail about horses. You are not annoying, you are being helpful.

I'm sure Marty will appreciate your advice, since you weren't being mean, just offering some facts for his next drawing of a horse.

We thank you for dedicating the time to those of us who aren't so knowledgeable about horses.

Great Drawing

Horses are hard to draw sometimes. You did a good job with this one. I hate to say there are a couple of flaws. The horse's nose should be a little smaller (think of the head as a cone shape). Also, There aren't that many muscles in the stomach, so it doesn't really need all of those lines. There are too many horse stories that don't show any knowledge about horses. This is usually about color, so I'll tell you a little bit about color:
Brown: A true BROWN horse is always dark with a black mane and tail and a tan nose. If you see a brown horse with a black mane, but the nose is black, that's called a BAY (Bays don't have to be dark). CHESTNUT horses are any shade of brown, reddish gold or red with a brown, red, flaxen, or white mane.
White: WHITE horses are pretty much half albino. A white horse MUST have the following:
-Pure white hair
-Pink skin that shows through at the nose
-Tan hooves
-Blue eyes
Full albinos die as foals due to lethal white syndrome. GRAY horses can be so light that they look white. However the skin will be black and the horses are still genetically gray. CREMELLOS and PERLINOS are chestnut and bay base coats with two cream genes. They have the same appearance as white, but are not half albino. If you don't like cremello and perlino, you can say cream and pearl.
Blond: PALOMINOS are chestnut bases with one cream gene. They are blond with white manes. BUCKSKINS have bay bases, so they have black manes. Remember that chestnuts can look blond too.
Another thing, baby horses are foals, male babies are colts, and female babies are fillies. Cowboys and cowgirls usually call them something different:
-All babies are colts
-Male babies are horse-colts
-Female babies are filly-colts
I hope the information was helpful! I've been told it can be annoying.
