This Is Me

I am Theekshana S. Rajapaksha from Sri Lanka. I was born in 1987. I have an elder brother and I know he is a talented Artist. He does only sketches. So my role model was my brother.

When i was 11 yrs old,I chose Art as my Aesthetic subject. I had a good kind Art teacher at my school, Royal College. So i was so interested in paintings.

Every year i got highest marks for this subject. Then my teacher Mrs.S sent my paintings for All island and International Art competitions. I won lot of certificates and prizes and won my 1st Gold medal in year 2001.

There after i was so motivated. I participated in a number of competitions and won Gold, silver and bronze medals until year 2004.

Then i had to stop painting due to my higher studies.(Advanced Level Examination). Because not like a sketch, it takes a long time to finish a good painting.

But now I'm 3rd year Undergraduate and these days i'm on vacation. So i decided to start drawing in a different manner, which i can save time. So i moved to sketches. I did my 1st sketch on 05-08-2009 and published it on my facebook profile. I got a good feed back and so i continued it..

If i have a skill on drawing i must say it is because of my teachers, parents and my brother Dilan.
