Up And Down

Up And Down

I was given two new books for Christmas, and I came across these two together, so I had a go at drawing them in my own way.

When my grandaughter, who is 4 years old, saw the drawings she said "this one is me grandad, and that one is Seb" (my grandson), I have to say neither look like the drawings at all - possibly their hair styles at a pinch.

So I thought I would put them on show for you to have your say on what you feel about them.

I do feel that I never really try and finish off a drawing and therefore they do tend to be a bit rough around the edges - if you know what I mean.

Anyway A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you out there in this big wide world, and hopefully a very healthy one too.

Ken, what a delightful gift, to be given art books for Christmas. Aren't they addictive? I love your drawings. To draw heads is a difficult thing and I actually appreciate rough edges, on any drawing. I think it adds more appeal.

Happy New Year to you too, Ken. Thanks for participating here and I hope we see more of your wonderful drawings next year.

Great!

These potraits are nice. As i am currently struggling with potraits, i can assure you, these drawings are great; even your grand daughter could recognise herself in it. But The sketches i do, nobody could yet match the person with the picture. Soon i shall upload some of these pictures and you will see!

Nice work with the shading too, they are in the right places, as you draw more, these skills develop and we all could be amazed!

Portrait drawing is hard so I think you have done a really good job. Imagine how good you will be in a year?
