[Drawing] With Confidence
June 21, 2012
Hi

Drawing With Confidence

Did you know that being an artist is actually a state of mind? When you decide that you can draw, that is the day you become an artist.

We can be whatever we want to be, our minds are truly that powerful.

If you doubt yourself or if you completely lack confidence, I'm sorry to say that you are your own worst enemy. You have to believe in your ability and have faith that you can do whatever task you set for yourself.

We are always hearing stories of "miracles" like someone who was told they would never walk again, but they do -- through sheer will and determination, they do. That is the power of the mind.

If you have the qualities of belief and faith, your opportunities are truly endless.

I am telling you this because when I was a teenager, I was shy and completely lacking in confidence. I wish someone pointed out to me then that it was all in my mind because now (decades later), I believe I can draw, so I do!

This advice relates to anything and everything in life so reach down deep inside, grab those dormant wishes and make them happen! It's up to you.

Easy Flowers To Draw

As you know, outline drawings are great for their simplicity and beauty, besides the fact they make terrific drawing practice.

If you are always searching for simple outlines (like I do), well, I found lots of easy flowers to draw so hopefully I've saved you some time by sharing a wonderful resource that I discovered.

Your Drawings

Fantastic artwork continues to be shared on the All About Drawings Facebook page.

Hop on over for a browse and please comment whenever you feel impressed with someone's lovely work. It is also a nice place to get together and chat.

Drawing Tip of the Month

When you erase a portion of your drawing, place a finger either side of the area to be erased and hold the paper firmly.

Avoid rubbing backwards and forwards, do it in only one direction or dab at the unwanted spots with a kneaded eraser.

Just be gentle with your eraser and your drawing will emerge unscathed.

Handy Links

Here are some online drawing books that I bought to help me learn, practice and improve. They all have a money-back guarantee which is fantastic because the books I like may not necessarily be the same books you like.

If you have any drawing questions, please visit the frequently asked questions page to find your answers.

Drawing is a very economical hobby and this list of drawing supplies shows the few things you need to get started.

, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read this issue. I do appreciate your company!
