[Drawing] with Determination
September 13, 2015
Hi

Do you have doubts about being able to draw? 10 years on and I still do!

However, just recently I got mad with myself for entertaining the doubts that entered my head, just as I was starting to draw on a birthday card. By 'entertaining', I mean listening to them or even allowing them to be there. Clearly, this type of thinking is not for our greater good.

I'm a slow learner so it takes me a while to understand these things :)

So, as I was saying, I got mad and that made me more determined to give it my best shot. I soon learned that determination is a way stronger emotion than doubt because the drawing turned out fine, without any hassles.

So, I need to ask, do you think there is any benefit in heeding thoughts that don't take you where you want to go? Have you ever noticed that these random thoughts can actually affect the true course of your life?

Please take your time to read and apply this information so you can draw whatever you want, effortlessly.

Drawing Tip of the Month

You can learn a lot more than you think just by copying cartoon faces, bodies, buildings, cars or whatever.

Cartoon images are easy to remember and for that reason you can practice drawing them anywhere, anytime. It doesn't matter if it's nothing like the original because this type of spontaneous practice encourages you to make imperceptible changes to each one, stretching the boundaries of your imagination and creativity.

When you master the first thing (subject is your choice), move on to the next and keep going with all the basic forms. You won't even realize the vast amount of improvement you've made until you change to realistic drawing and then you'll see it's a very smooth transition!
