A Grandmother's Love
by Sheryl Lynn Boivin
(Bowman, Ga.)
This is the latest commissioned pencil portrait I have done. This is a drawing of a grandmother whom passed away about a year ago. This is her two grandson's... the one on the left playfully put on one of her turbans and the one on the right was not in the photo I drew from so I had to add him in the photo (for reference) using photoshop. I used a 2B, 4B and HB graphite pencils on this portrait. It is done on drawing board which is pretty thick. I so wish there was a better way to get pictures of our drawings without loosing all the life in the portrait.
Note from Kerry: Hi Lynn I know what you mean about losing so much quality through photos or scanning. In saying that, I think the drawing is wonderful, you've captured the love within the family group and it's left me feeling all warm and fuzzy. I am very happy you shared it with us, thanks Lynn. You have every reason to be proud of this piece.
