I liked to draw when I was in high school. I never thought I was any good so never thought of pursuing it.

I was in college working on my associate's degree and had to fill in some credits so I signed up for a drawing class. What a surprise. I learned to take a flat line or shape and make it look three dimensional. It opened up a whole new world for me.

I drew on and off during my 20's and went back to college to get my bachelor's degree. I took a drawing class again and found something I truly liked to do and had some talent at it.

The biggest honor and joy for me is when someone asks me to draw their loved one or pet. To see the expression on their face, the smile, the joy at them looking at the finished drawing and beaming. That is priceless to me. Money could never give the satisfaction and joy that drawing for someone brings.

You are right, drawing provides something way past monetary means, it's hard to describe. It is definitely possible to change your life when you start drawing.
