I thought I should share my "fascinating" story (kidding). I am a retired 8th grade English teacher living at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee, but came here from Florida and Indiana before that. I share our home with my 89 year-old- mother and my husband who is 100% disabled and a 37 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, 2 cats, 2 dogs and any other stray wandering through. I have 3 grown children and 4 grandkids. I started drawing when I realized how talented my youngest daughter is. Since my sister is an artist, I thought it might run in the family. Ha!! But I decided to keep trying as it is a great stress reliever. I write poetry (I'm a much better poet than artist), but have to find time to do either. Thanks for reading. I'll keep trying because of all the encouragement I get from Kerry, Marty, Michael and the rest of the wonderful visitors to this website.
Note from Kerry: Hello Sue, Funny thing, I feel like we have been friends for a long time already! Actually, you have been participating on this site since 2008 so really you are part of the furniture.
Sue, I love seeing your posts around the place as you encourage others with your kindness and I love that you are brave enough to show your first attempts with portrait drawing. That really takes gumption and it shows you can handle criticism - not all artists can take it.
Make yourself at home - this is your site as much as mine -- and Michael's!
