Hello Everyone:

I have posted two pictures here. One is a sketch that I did on a canvas board with a mechanical pencil. The next one is the finished Acrylic Painting that I did of it.

This was the first time that I have done anything in Acrylic. I do like the finished painting.

So please let me know how you all like it. Oh, I gave it to my wife as an anniversary present. October the 24th we were married for 30 years.

Thank You All

Marty!

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Marty
You already know I loved the drawing and I think you've done a fine job painting it with acrylic. It's colorful and ultra special because you did it from your heart to your wife. That's such a sweet thing to do.

Happy anniversary to Marty and Sue!!

As an artist who often takes a good sketch as the beginning of a more de'tailed' bird illustration, I have begun to keep a digital copy of the original sketch so that I can enjoy both formats. Very good body proportions for your birds, by the way!

Hello Vegar J.:

I'm so glad you and everyone likes it.

I am going to start another as soon as I get over this head cold. I have to watch getting sick as I have bad lungs. I had to get the doctor to get me on meds fast as my breathing was being inpaired.

Thank You all

Hello Shubha:

My dearest new friend you made my day as I love helping people.

Because I just love people. I think there funny, honest, peaceful, joyous and did I mention just plain funny sometimes.

I can be somewhere with my wife and I see the funny things that people do and I can get a barrel 0f laughs from them.

I'm so glad you liked my artwork.

I am planning on trying to sketch a likeness of my granddaughter/daughter on a canvas board and then paint it in. About like a paint by numbers thing. That's how I did the Redbird drawing and or painting. With Arcylics you can take a piece of cardboard, wood, metal and etc. And you can do your sketch or drawing on it and then use your Arcylic paints to well create your own beautiful Masterpiece.

So I will post it here when I get it finished.

Thank You for all your kind words.

Kindly

Marty!

Hello Cindy:

I'm so glad you like it and this was my first time at arcylics. I was suprised at the outcome.

I am planning on doing or trying to do a portrait of my granddaughter/daughter.

I will first attempt to sketch her picture onto the canvas and then I will color it in. It will be another first for me. I hope it goes well.

Thank You Cindy for your comments and all you kind words.

I have truly found so many friends here that have touched my heart and you I consider one of them.

Kindly

Wow Marty! It's so good to see the final painting of your birds! Very nice color choices and execution of the piece! It's nice to hear you did this for your wife...I'm sure she loves it!! What a great gift to her!! So much of your art that I see is black and white drawings so I was thrilled to see such a colorful piece!!! Nice work!!!
Your friend,
Cindy

Marty, you are a braver man than I. At least you have the gits to branch out and try a painting....and what a fantastic job at that too! I like the way you switched it up a bit from the drawing to the painting....excellent!!

Hello Kerry:

Thank You for all your kind words.

I know this website is for drawings and I summit way more drawings than I do paintings.

I love to draw and I didn't know I could draw until I was sixty-four years young.

The painting has seven birds in it. I also included different colored flowers, red berries and a few tree branches. I also included a couple clouds.

This is the first time I sketched anything on anything and painted it. I know it has some flaws but my wife Sue loves it and that is all that matters.

I am going to try to do a portrait. So please wish me luck on it, I'll really need it.

Kerry I Love this website. It is like home to me.

Thank You Kerry.

Marty!
