Drawing from imagination

by June

I have to be looking at something before I can draw it. Can you give me any advice on how to do my art?

Thanks.

Answer From Kerry:

Hi June,

Not everyone can draw from their imagination.

Goodness me, I can't draw without looking at something but I don't let that worry me. I know that one of these days, I'll be able to pick up a pencil and draw whatever. You see, I am always practicing and drawing, and then I practice some more. Every little bit helps.

Just enjoy your art, relax and let it happen on its own accord.

So long as you keep drawing as a part of your life, you'll always find happiness.

Hello Again June:

You know I have some good relaxing music that would help you greatly.

Just send me your email address and I willsend you a download link for it.

You don't have to have details when you first start from your Imagination, just use your talent and gift na d just relaxclose your eyes and whatever comes into your mind draw it. It may noy be what you want or think it should be but just draw from your first impression, and you will find how your artwork will be on a different level.

Good Luck and let me know how it goes.

You know we will never know how or what we can do without taking ACTION.

Warm Regards

Marty!

imagination

Hello June:

Drawing from imagination would be like using your creative mind. We all have a mind that gives us creative ideas if we would only let our imagination do its thing.

You know sometimes we need to get out of the way and let our mind take us on a wonderful journey.

For example, just sit in a chair and get comfortable and start breathing slowly in and out. Then start relaxing every part of your body and imagine you are at a lovely waterfalls, you hear the water and the birds singing and you walk around and go through the waterfalls and you enter into a secret chamber. This is your secret room where you can get all your hearts desire.

Well I was getting carried away. I did do this and it really works, just try it and let me know how you did.

I'm sure if you do your be able to draw from your
imagination.

With Warm Regards

Marty!

I agree, I have been drawing for some time now, and I too can not draw from imagination. My biggest problem is I can not visualize details. If I want a detailed correct drawing, I too need a subject, a point of reference. Don't let that bother you any, I know many great artists that need reference points. Nothing wrong with that. But, if drawing from imagination is something that you want to work at, I would suggest, just start drawing from imagination, as you complete pieces, look at them, what needs to be added or changed? Then adjust and go from there, eventualy, you will draw from imagination....good luck, let us all know how it goes.
