Here's Trouble
by Karen Welter
(Joshua, Texas)
This drawing I did with a #2 pencil and map colors.
I found it in a pile of mail that I received a long time ago. I thought I would give it a try.
***Note from Kerry: Hi Karen Can I ask what map colors are? Can't say I've ever heard of them, sorry for my ignorance.
I love copying pictures from junk mail, I cut out all the ones that appeal to me and I keep them in a box. Whenever I am stuck for something to draw, I have a ready pile of resources to go through and I always find something that I am in the mood to draw.
I love your drawing to pieces, it's great!

Slug Interrogation Techniques
I have been cartooning my whole life.
I start by sketching in pencil and then scan as a Bitmap image. Color rendering is done in Illustrator.
***Note from Kerry: Hi Keith, You must have a great sense of humor, not only is your drawing brilliant, I got a giggle out of it, too.

***Note from Kerry: Hi Jake, I can see you're an established cartoon artist. Your drawing has a great dash of humor so I hope you continue to draw a whole lot more!
ps. I've moved your drawing to the cartoon section, hope that's ok with you.

Donald Duck

(Auburn, CA. U.S.A)
Donald Duck
I enjoy drawing cartoon Animals and other things. I used a #2 pencil for this picture. This one I copied off the internet. Please let me know what is wrong with it.
Thank you.
***Note from Kerry: Hello Barton, I can't tell you how delighted I am to see an image on this page! Sadly, your wolf drawing is still not coming through but I am happy in the knowledge that you assured me you wouldn't give up. Thank you so much for being such a good sport.
This page shows you can do the upload process so we just have to work out what's going wrong with the wolf drawing.
It's wonderful to see you are drawing cartoons, they provide inspiration and motivation because they are so easy to copy and we actually end up with a good likeness. Your drawing is very good.
I think it's better to ask people what it is they like about your drawing, rather than what is wrong with the drawing. I like his happy demeanor, I think you have portrayed Donald perfectly.
Donald has been moved to the Cartoon section, I hope that's alright with you.

Ok, so this might offend some people, but seriously, it's just a little joke.
I found this picture in the newspaper and decided to draw it..
I used HB, 2B and a black felt tip pen.
I used derwent artist's pencils for the colour
***Note from Kerry: Hi John I think we can all use a little humor and when there is no malice intended, none should be taken. You've done a good job with your drawing.

Sgt. David

(Joshua, Texas)
Sgt. David
I named this handsome gentleman after my husband. He was in the Marines for many years. After I looked at the finished product my husband came to mind.
***Note from Kerry: Karen, I smile when I see the different things you are incorporating into your drawings. This is the gradual improvement that I was telling you about earlier. It is great to see you introducing softer pencil and I spy some eraser technique in the hair. You captured expression, too, that's a big step in the right direction. You are going along just fine.

Well, I am a fan of Tim Burton's work.
So I decided to draw some of his characters together.
I haven't drawn for a while, and I now love it even more.
I just used a normal HB pencil, and 2B. Then I outlined it with a fine black pen.
***Note from Kerry: Hi John, It's great to see you've gone back to drawing. This is good!

Monster Monster!
by John Nolen
(N.S.W, Australia)
Well, yesterday I was browsing the internet and found this monster!
I put my own twist on it and put in some other characters and a setting.
The little superhero was something I made yesterday, keep trying to improve him. Haven't thought of a name yet though...Might make a little comic strip for him :D
I used HB pencil, then 2B for shading, then a black felt tip pen for outlining, and the trees and bushes.
***Note from Kerry: John, this is also very good! The monster's eye is well done and I love the characters that you created beside him. Great work.

Hello Everyone:
Here is a drawing I done of my girlfriend and who said I couldn't do portrait's?
Now please let me know where I made my mistakes. And oh yes, please don't tell anyone about my girlfriend I don't want my wife to find out about her.
I used a # 2 pencil and a Charcoal 557-2B Med. Pencil.
I love this website and I love having fun. I also got an idea. Ah a lightbulb went off in my head. I do have a brain, I think!!!
If anyone wants to a eColoring eBook just email me your black and white drawings that you would like in a coloring eBook and I will put my own in it also. Please let me know what they are about. Example: Cartoons, Christmas, Thanksgiving, easter and etc.
This is not a contest. I am going to make my eColoring eBook and I just wanted to know if you may want some of your artwork in it. If so I need your full name and address and country. This way everyone will know you in the eColoring eBook.
Thanks Marty!
