Gandalf the White

Gandalf the White
Here is another one of my drawings. This one was made on request of the children at work. They used to be all into "Star Wars", but things change. "Lord of the Rings" is the new thing.
I promised them a lot of drawings, but wanted to start out with Gandalf, since he is my personal favorite.
I chose the moment in the book/movie where he reappears in "Fangorn Forest" to Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli.
Hope you like it.
***Note from Kerry: Hi Jannick, as soon as I saw this, I loved it! Very good work.

Egyptian Canopic Box
by Anna Brady

Egyptian Canopic Box
This is another co-lap drawing I did with my sister. There sits Anubis at the top of the canopic box, with our names hidden within all the hieroglyphics.
We are hoping to draw two more boxes eventually. One with an Asian theme, and the other with a medieval theme. Both with our names in hidden in the drawing.
One will be done with Chinese calligraphy, and the other in Gaelic :) I'm really excited to start working on the next box! I hope you all enjoyed this one :)
***Note from Kerry: Anna, this is truly a work of art! You and your sister should be very proud of yourselves, thank you so much for showing this drawing, it is lovely.

Mickey Mouse Abstraction
by Richard Lund Winther
(Athens, Greece)
Hi everyone :) This is the last drawing I did, it took me about 4 hours to do and I used a 2B, 4B, 5B and 8B pencil, an eraser, one thin and one thick and a lighter to add the burning effect...
So what I have to say about this drawing is actually not too much because I'm not actually sure what it is myself... Except that it's supposed to be a tribal thing with Mickeys shape standing in front of a wall with some electronics on it....
Ohhh yes, the fun part (for me) is that I inverted the colors in my head so you can see that the shadow is white and the light Dark. Enjoy :) hope you like it :)
Note from Kerry: Richard, I see a lot of work has gone into this piece and you did it all in just 4 hours! It definitely looks Tribal and it makes a cool drawing.

And all the world shall weep.
by Sue Bledsoe
(Tennessee)
Sorrow
Kerry, This has been in the back of my mind for a very long time.
The map was drawn freehand as well as the outline of the countries. Forgive any inconsistencies. But as I studied the world map, Antarctica seemed so sad.
The symbol on the left is Chinese for "pain" and on the right for "hurt." (Or at least my attempt at interpreting them). I know it is a bit strange, but the world does seem so sad right now. Sue Bledsoe
Note from Kerry: Hi Sue It's so lovely to see you posting more of your artwork. Drawing what's on your mind is very cleansing and I really like your creation. It's so clever!
I think the world is in a sad place right now too, but I think it's important that we all keep a positive outlook and know that things will change for the better very soon. The power of the mind is a wonderful thing so imagine if we all get together and envisage a brighter future for our young'uns.
Is everything alright with you? I think of you all the time and I don't like to think you are feeling sad. Can I help?

Dinosaur Creature
Well here I am again with just another # 2 pencil drawing.
I saw this somewhere and it was a small drawing so I thought I would freehand it to see what it would look like and here it is.
I hope you all like it, so please let me know.
I know there is a name for this creature.
Marty!
***Note from Kerry: Hi Marty, your dinosaur bird/creature is really good. I like to know you are still producing great drawings and thanks so much for sharing them here.

I drew this because of my love for Greek mythology:P I've been finding myself doing more and more greek things.
This is my first horse drawing, and it turned out good, until my friend accidentally crumpled it :P (notice the wrinkles at the bottom) so sorry about that(:
***Note from Kerry: It's a beautiful drawing, Lauren. I love your drawing style, it's magical.

I know... I've been doing too many game character drawings... but I'm being ASKED to now so... ha (: This is the same guy i did for the last game character... just older :P he's in the upcoming game.... so i did this for a group I'm a part of who ASKED me to draw it :P haha... I don't want to crowd up your site with a bunch of video game pictures...but so much work is put into it... this poor picture deserves it!
Note from Kerry: Hi Lauren Please don't feel like you are crowding the site, we all love to see your new creations and, honestly, my mouth drops open when I view your work. You are so very, very good -- there are no words to describe your talent eloquently.

Minotaur
Well, I am really into fantasy and mythical creatures! so i was watching a movie (forget what it was) and they had minotaurs in it.
The features of the minotaur enthralled me and captivated my imagination!
***Note from Kerry: Hi John, there is a great artist waiting to emerge from within you. All it takes is practice and patience and you will wow everyone with your work.
Keep going, it's great to see you contributing here, thanks.

Vampire
by kitty
(romania)
I have seen a new anime recently. The plot focuses on humans getting along with vampires which is, of course, a very hard thing. However, i really liked the story and i've decided to give it a try and draw one of the main characters.
This is Kaname Kuran a very powerful vampire of which his likes are afraid of especially because he is one of the original vampires.
Note from Kerry: Hi Kitty Your drawing is fabulous, and even though I'm not keen on vampires, I think it's really lovely anime work by you! Thanks for sharing it with us, we appreciate you and your art.

No more tears!
by Richard Lund Winther
(Athens, Greece)
Hi Everyone :) This is the piece that I have been working on, I won't tell you exactly what it is because I want you to use your imagination to see whatever your mind sees :) I will just tell you that I did it for my best friend (who is a girl) because she has had some problems and have been crying much lately.
Hope you like it :)
Richard :)
 Note from Kerry: Hi Richard!
I have studied your drawing for some time and I have reached my own conclusions - just as you had hoped! I will wait to see what everyone else has to say and what their interpretation might be.
I thought the drawing was profound, I like it!

Firey Horse
by Lauren Sauers
(wilmington N.C.)
There's not really any reasons as to why i drew it, but do artists really need a reason? :P its just what we do:)
Just pure imagination mixed with holding a #2 pencil and finding a sketch pad i guess:)
***Note from Kerry: Lauren, I'd be the happiest person in the world if this flowed from my imagination and into my pencil. It is beautiful ...
