Rose

This is my first pencil drawing.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Helen,
Your drawing is beautiful, very amazing for a first try with pencil.

It would be great if you could write more than one line please Helen, to keep within submission guidelines.

There are lots of things you can tell us, when I look at your drawing, questions come into my mind, like:-
Are you an established artist in another medium?
What made you try pencil drawing?
Did you refer to art books to draw this?

This is your page, devoted entirely to you and we'd love to know more.

ROSE

ROSE

My friend gave me this picture to draw for my mother for Mother's Day and it came out pretty good but it was quickly done.

I had a great time drawing it and this is the second picture i put to this website and hope to put more.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Flavio,
Your rose drawing is beautiful! Sometimes when we draw quickly, our work comes out better than if we put too much thought into it. Well done!

A Rose

by Lee
(leavenworth, Kansas)

i didn't have much to do so I decided to draw a rose, lol.
It definitely came out better than I thought it would.

***Note from Kerry:
Gosh Lee, you need to have more idle time - this is terrific! You picked a subject that is known for intricacy and turned it into a magical piece. Please keep it, put the date on it and sign it. I'm sure it's the beginning of many great artworks by you.

Rose

Rose

i found this picture on the internet and decided to redraw it for my little sister...

I have been drawing only a year and hope to get better the more projects i do.

I am sorry the picture isn't clear enough, it's a little old.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Flavio
It is a shame we can't clearly see the drawing, it looks to be excellent. That is very well done for someone who has only been drawing for one year! Keep going!

Note from Kerry:
Hi Paula
Roses are so intricate, they do present a problem to any artist but I am very impressed with your drawing!
It's made me extremely happy to know you have the drawing bug and you've used up 2 sketchbooks! That is so great!

Lori, you have a beautiful drawing style - this is so lovely - with or without color! Actually, it may surprise you to know I prefer this one - I have a terrible addiction to graphite!

I saw this over net and was eager to do this on paper. I have tried this with water colour. Hope I have done justice with it!

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Sushree!
Your little watercolor looks fantastic! It's instantly appealing so I'd call that justice.

Beauty's roses

by Diya Nishana
(Hail,Saudi Arabia)

A few days ago, I read the story of Beauty and the beast. In the story, Beauty's father plucks a rose from the beast's garden and the beast gets angry. When I read this part, the idea of these roses came to my mind. I quickly grabbed a paper and a pencil and drew this picture.

I did this drawing with 8b and 3b pencils.
Please point out the mistakes so that I can correct them in future.

artist
Note from Kerry:
Hi again Diya,
You must be a natural artist, I love your drawing style and I think this piece is simply beautiful.

Keep drawing and enjoy the process, that will ensure all of your drawings will turn out great, just like this one.

Rose

by rachel
(england)

I drew this at 4 o'clock this morning. I got the urge to draw really badly for some reason.

I drew this from a rose in front of me which I think is why it lacks some realism. either that or the lack of sleep.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Rachel,

I actually prefer drawings that aren't too realistic because they have more character. I think you've done a very good job, especially considering the hour this creation came forth!
