A Cluster of Flowers

A Cluster of Flowers

I was looking at flower arrangements on the internet to help a friend with her up coming wedding, when I came across a picture of this beautiful cluster of flowers.

I'm not sure of the name of the flowers, but I liked them so much, I just had to sketch them.

Hope you like them too!

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Tracy, your artwork is delicate and beautiful. Is your paper a cream color or is that just how it scans?

Jubi, I love your translation of what you saw in your garden, you've made it unique and very pretty.

Do you draw on blue paper or is that just the way it scans?

Bleeding Hearts

Bleeding hearts

Bleeding hearts

I drew the bleeding hearts from a photograph. I used colored pencils for this drawing.

I made it rather simple and eliminated the background behind the flowers in the photo.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Michelle, this is beautiful - I tend to love simple, it speaks to me.

My Sunflower

Blooming Out From My Paper

Blooming Out From My Paper

Well, to start with, I saw this pic in a book and thought for a while how I could get that effect. I was just staring blankly at the wall.

When I realised the rough finishing on the wall..I took a piece of paper and stuck it on the wall. I used my pencil on it to achieve the centre of the flower finishing. The rest was just adjusting the pressure of my pencil and this is what I got......cheers

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Martin. I love this! Thanks for sharing your inspiration and idea for this drawing - it's just terrific.

In the Art world, your drawing is called "Frottage". I wrote about that here:

Your drawing is a perfect example of how to use frottage to achieve brilliant effects. Thank you.

Flowers In Nature

by Zohra Moosa

I am a Deaf person. For years I was so sad because I could not draw. But I am a Poet.

Out of the blue this year, I just tried drawing a flower pot. As I continued, I sketch for the better very slowly and I am so thrilled. I am just a beginner. I do not wish to become professional but I wish to express my feelings and thoughts!

Welcome to my World of Silence! This drawing is done by me only. I have not seen any picture but in my mind!

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Zohra, your drawing is absolutely beautiful. I am so happy that you are excited about drawing and that you have found a love for it.

Flowers and pot

Hello everyone.

Well today I just felt like drawing and after I did, I wish I hadn't. Have you ever felt like that?

I just couldn't get things going right, but I am going to upload them anyway and see what you think of them.

I think I'll hide my head in shame. I think I am just having a bad day or maybe this is maybe three of my 100,000 bad drawings I had in my head that needed to come out.

I used regular pencil and a carbon pencil.

Ok, here's to your drawing success
Marty!

***Note from Kerry:
Ha ha Marty, I love that you used my favorite quote about how we need to get rid of the bad drawings within us.

If I had drawn this, I'd be pretty proud of it, I think it's great! Drawing is like meditating and it sounds to me like you are too hard on yourself. Enjoy each piece you create, they all contribute towards your ultimate masterpiece.

This is a drawing that I did for an 8yr. old girls birthday. I used a simple no.2 pencil and Crayola colored pencils. I used to draw only a daily basis, however this was the first drawing I did in nearly 2 years. Enjoy.

**Note from Kerry:
Hi Ashley,
Wow, it's lovely! Thanks for sharing it with us. I love the butterfly, the colors are beautiful.
I'm sure the birthday girl will treasure it.

I was feeling artistic so i decided to find something to draw. i went on the computer and noticed that many people were good at drawing roses.

I drew this rose from my mind and added black to add tint and shade.

***Note from Kerry:
