Cabin Heater

by Michael Betz
(Las Vegas)

Yesterday (Sunday) we all went up to my wife's mother's cabin at Mt Charleston for a family BBQ for Memorial Day.
This cabin is pretty old, it's been added on to, but pretty much everything that was there when it was built many many years ago, came with the cabin.
It has a very old wood burning heater in it.....I brought my drawing stuff with me, of course, and just felt like doing a sketch of it.
The heater itself is done in Derwent Charcoal, Dark, and Medium, the brick wall and stairwell are done in graphite, 2B and a blending stump, the walls are done in Dewent Charcoal White....
....took me maybe an hour......and would you believe, 3 days before June in Nevada, it snowed all day long...

Note from Kerry:
Hi Michael
It's so great to see your latest creation -- thanks so much for sharing it with us. One hour huh? Wow, you're getting pretty speedy now, dodgy arm and all!
It's so neat, dang you are good. Looks to me like you haven't missed a single tiny detail.
p.s. Today is the first day of winter in Oz and we just had what is usually a summer storm - lightning, thunder, hail and all. Eerie stuff.
