The Horse

I drew this horse from a step by step technique from drawabout.com.

I thought I'd make it large, and as you can see that i did a great job drawing shapes

***Note from Kerry:
Ronald, you are improving so much, I am very impressed with your drawings. It's great to see you are willing to try experiments and step by step procedures.

The Cowboy

and The Deadly Rattlesnake

Hello:

Here is another drawing I did while I was in hospital. It is a sketch of a cowboy thrown off his horse after his horse saw a rattlesnake.

Also what else do you see in the drawing? I am writing a story to go along with this drawing. Any one out there that would like to help me on the story? Please let me know.

I used a number two art pencil on the drawing.

Thank You Kerry: Martin Hamilton

***Note from Kerry;
Wow Marty, this is very good too!

I am starting to like using my graphite pencils...I was liking the colored pencils only for awhile. I did this little guy from a picture in a "how to book". I'm still only a beginner, about 3 weeks. lots to learn!!

Note from Kerry:

Ellen, there is a lot to learn but it is fun all the way. Whenever you run into something you're not quite interested in, leave it and move onto the next thing. You will go back to the uninteresting bits eventually but for now you have to pamper your enthusiasm.
I am so pleased you've discovered the beauty of graphite, it is my ultimate favorite too. I can tell you are having a great time - every drawing tells me so.

Pencil Horse

Pencil Horse

I have been drawing for two years now.

A few weeks ago a gentleman said to me that a test of ones skill would be to do a portrait of a horse.

I had a lot of fun drawing this horse and it created a lot of excitement. I do a bit of exhibition drawing at a local art and craft market.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Gavin
Your drawing is very good and very realistic. Great work!

The horse

Here is a horse drawing that I did as a practice page. It is done in pencil.

I had so much fun with the practice session that I am considering a collage of the horses in the pasture near our home.

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Mitzi
That's a great idea to do a collage, I love your horse drawing.

Black beauty

During my schooling I had a story about a horse called Black beauty. It is that story which inspired me into sketching this BLACK BEAUTY.

The name is even more apt as it is done completely using a single HB pencil available at my office desk ;)

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Abhishek, again, your work is very beautiful. I love your Black Beauty.

Grazing Horse

I just love horses, they are so beautiful & free spirited.

I have made many attempts at drawing this particular animal and I could never capture what I was looking for.

For the first time I am proud of the way my sketch turned out. Hope you like it too!

***Note from Kerry:
Hi Tracy,
Your sketch is lovely. A horse drawing can provide a challenge but I see you have done well.

Easter time is a time for family so I haven't been able to upload your drawings straight away, I hope you understand.
